A great big 'Dose Of The Blues'

The 2018 debut album from Ray Glastonbury.
Aka bluesman Ray Gee, born in a mining town long, long time ago - as in the opening lines of his much acclaimed mining classic, 'You Won't Be Going Down That Mine, My Son' which is featured on 'A Dose Of The Blues', a solo album of twelve of his songs recorded over the past year at Shabbey Road Studios.

Ray has been involved with the music business all his life, either as a performer, sometimes behind the scenes as a Manager and a Publisher.

It took him till 2018 to finally take the spotlight, with this collection of highly personal songs.

In an interview in 2017 Ray remarked 'I have written many songs for other artists, but these ones I kept for myself. I couldn't imagine anyone else singing them.

We have been busy filming some videos to promote the album and the opening track 'You Won't Be Going Down That Mine My Son' seemed like an obvious choice, being largely autobiographical.

This latest album is a great mix of blues and country blues, sung in his own unique style. Ray takes us from his B.B.King inspired 'Without My Woman', to the ever popular 'Drunk As A Skunk' via a train bound for Mobile, Alabama with 'I'll Never Hit The Bottle Again'. Add to that San Quentin's death row 'Hey Little Bird', a close encounter with the 'Grim Reaper' and the title track 'A Dose Of The Blues' along the way.
